My Aunt Ellen, who was from St Louis, brought this recipe to us from a friend in St Paul, so we always called it St Paul's Rice. It is now a staple at all our BBQs and many family holiday dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb - sausage (ground)
  • 1 sm - onion (chopped)
  • 1 - green pepper (chopped)
  • 3 stalks - celery (chopped)
  • 2-1/2 cups - water
  • 1 cup - white rice
  • 2 pkgs - chicken noodle soup mix
  • 1 sm jar - pimento
  • 1/2 pkg - slivered almonds

How To Make st paul's rice

  • Step 1
    Cover Rice with water and cook lie about 5 minutes. Add chicken flavored noodle soup mix and continue cooking about 10 more minutes
  • Step 2
    Brown loose ground sausage, add pepper, onion, and celery.
  • Step 3
    When rice is almost done, mix sausage mix, rice, pimentos and slivered almonds.
  • Step 4
    Bake in a greased pan at 350° For approximately 45 minutes.
