Delicious spicy Spanish rice side dish ! Quick and easy
For smaller family 1/2 the recipe ! Very seldom do we
have any leftovers !!

  • 1/2 c
    diced onion
  • 1/2 c
    diced green pepper
  • 1 1/2 stalk(s)
    diced celery (approx)
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder mix ( more or less to taste)
  • 1 tsp
    crushed hot pepper flakes (more or less to your preference )
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 4 c
    cooked white rice
  • 1 can(s)
    small can of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 jar(s)
    pace picante sauce .. 16oz jar ( medium .. mild for less hot)
  • 3 Tbsp
    cooking oil of your choice
  • ·
    salt / pepper preferably at table

How to Make Spicy Spanish Rice


  1. In large frying pan ... add oil ...saute onion, green pepper, celery .. until almost brown .. add garlic powder and hot pepper flakes .. continue frying on medium heat until browned.
  2. Add tomato sauce picante sauce to browned ingredients ... stir and cook on medium heat about 3 minutes .. until hot .
  3. Add rice to fry pan .. stir until rice is completely incorporated with sauce mixture .

    Serve warm
