Ingredients
- 2 cups long grain rice, uncooked
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1 can tomato sauce, (8 ounce)
- - chili powder to taste or about 1 tsp
How To Make spanish rice
-
Step 1Put some oil in a frying pan, about 4 tablespoons. When hot stir in your uncooked rice and let brown until its a golden brown, stirring to prevent browning.
-
Step 2When rice is golden stir in your onions until soft.
-
Step 3Add chili powder and mix well.
-
Step 4Add chicken broth, tomato sauce, and if needed enough water to cover the rice by about 1/4 inch over the top.
-
Step 5Bring to a boil, turn burner to low and cover the pan with lid or tin foil. Let cook on low till all the liquid is absorbed about 20 minutes or so.
