How to Make Spanish Rice

  1. Put some oil in a frying pan, about 4 tablespoons. When hot stir in your uncooked rice and let brown until its a golden brown, stirring to prevent browning.
  2. When rice is golden stir in your onions until soft.
  3. Add chili powder and mix well.
  4. Add chicken broth, tomato sauce, and if needed enough water to cover the rice by about 1/4 inch over the top.
  5. Bring to a boil, turn burner to low and cover the pan with lid or tin foil. Let cook on low till all the liquid is absorbed about 20 minutes or so.
