simple arabic rice pilaf

This is everyday Arabic rice that is used to eat with stews and such. I grew up eating this with just simply plain yoghurt or chopped tomatoes over it.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white rice
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 - handfull broken vermicelli noodles
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 3/4 cups water or broth

How To Make simple arabic rice pilaf

  • Step 1
    Fry the vermicelli in butter on low until golden.
  • Step 2
    Add remaining ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. .
  • Step 4
    Cover & simmer for 30 minutes or until rice is tender & water is absorbed.
