polynesian fried rice

Great for a quick side dish on a busy evening! My children are grown with families of their own, but they still request this when they come home.

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 cup minute rice
  • 1/4 pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 5 - green onions, chopped
  • 1 - egg, beaten

How To Make polynesian fried rice

  • Step 1
    Bring soy sauce and water to a boil in a covered saucepan; add rice and stir. Cover and remove from heat, and let stand 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Brown ground pork and add butter and 4 of the green onions.
  • Step 3
    Add rice and cook on medium heat until rice is fairly dry, stirring often.
  • Step 4
    Heap rice into a mound into he center of the frying pan and pour beaten egg over the top. Stir quickly and cook for a few seconds until egg is absorbed.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle remaining onions on top.
