No matter how many Mexican or Spanish Rice box mixes I have tried, they just didn't ever taste right. With the combination of delicious seasonings and easy, fool-proof steps, you can finally have restaurant-quality Mexican Rice at home. I serve this dish with every Mexican-style meal I serve, and my family loves it.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 1 package Sazon Goya with coriander and annatto
  • 1 tablespoon tomato chicken boullion
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil

How To Make perfect mexican rice

  • Toasting Rice in my skillet
    Step 1
    Drizzle oil into a skillet on medium heat. Add rice and sauté until toasted light brown.
  • Seasoning Packets for my rice
    Step 2
    Add water (making sure it is about 1 inch above the rice). Add seasonings and bouillon.
  • Step 3
    Taste to be sure you are happy with the flavor. Add more seasonings if you prefer. Then bring to a boil.
  • Mexican Rice in my electric skillet
    Step 4
    Cover and set on medium and cook for 15 minutes without removing the lid. During this cooking time, do not uncover your rice. After 15 minutes, turn the heat off and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes. The rice should be perfectly cooked every time!
