onion, chopped

fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 c
butter, melted
1 c
long-grain rice, uncooked
2 c

frozen english peas
1 tsp
1/4 c
parmesan cheese, grated

How to Make Peas and Rice Casserole


  • 1Saute onion and parsley in melted butter in a large skillet until tender. Add the rice, and saute 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the water; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  • 2Cook the peas according to the package directions; drain. Add peas and salt to the rice; stir well.
  • 3Transfer the rice mixture to a serving dish; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
