onion rice (rice cooker)
I made this on 27 Apr 2022, and it is good! Mother in law loved this, and my wife and I enjoyed nearly the whole pot! Easy and flavorful rice, only 5 ingredients. I used my basic 1 liter (1 quart) Cook and Warm rice cooker.

Ingredients
- 1 - large red onion, or 2 smaller ones
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, or vegetable oil
- 1 cup dry jasmine rice
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
How To Make onion rice (rice cooker)

Step 1Dice the onion, I used two smaller ones.

Step 2Add the oil to your rice cooker and set to the Cook setting to heat the oil, when hot, add the onion and cook, stirring often, until almost softened.

Step 3Add the rice and stir to coat the rice with oil. Cook, stirring often, until the onion is tender and the rice is just starting to lightly brown.

Step 4Season with the pepper then stir in the chicken broth. Cover and let the Cook cycle complete, as indicated by the cooker switching to Warm setting.

Step 5Remove the cover and fluff with a rice paddle.

Step 6Serve as a side with any main dish. Enjoy.
