2 Tbspvegetable or canola oil
1-2 slicebacon, crumbled
1 smallonion, diced
3 chot chicken broth
2 ccooked peas
1-1/2 cuncooked long grain rice (i use uncle ben's converted rice -- do not use minute rice)
4 Tbspgrated parmesan cheese
1 tspgarlic powder
1 tspitalian seasoning
How to Make Italian Rice
- In a nonstick skillet, melt butter. Add oil and bacon. Brown onion in the mixture.
- Add broth and peas, cook for 3 minutes.
- Add rice and all seasonings, and cook on low, covered, until rice is cooked entirely, about 25-30 minutes.
- Add Parmesan cheese, and mix thoroughly.
