I love rice. Any kind of rice. This recipe, with all of the Italian style seasonings, is just delicious. I like to serve this with a good roasted chicken,

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
  • 1-2 slice bacon, crumbled
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cups hot chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked peas
  • 1-1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice (i use uncle ben's converted rice -- do not use minute rice)
  • 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning

How To Make italian rice

  • Step 1
    In a nonstick skillet, melt butter. Add oil and bacon. Brown onion in the mixture.
  • Step 2
    Add broth and peas, cook for 3 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add rice and all seasonings, and cook on low, covered, until rice is cooked entirely, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add Parmesan cheese, and mix thoroughly.
