Buttery and delicious... this is a great side dish or good as a bed for a meat main dish. It also keeps well in the fridge for about two weeks.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    small egg noodles
  • 1 c
    long cooking rice (not minute rice)
  • 2 1/2 c
    chicken or beef broth
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • ·
    salt to taste

How to Make Grandmother Phillips' Rice Pilaf

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown egg noodles lightly in melted butter.
  2. Add rice and salt, stirring lightly.
  3. Heat broth and add to rice mixture. Cook with lid on low heat for 25 min.
    *Do not remove lid to stir.
  4. Let stand for five minutes, remove lid, stir, and serve.
