This along with a fried egg and some marinated meat makes a typical Filipino breakfast dish! Taken from The Filipino-American Kitchen by Aranas. Make sure to use long-grained rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 small cloves garlic, chopped
  • 4 cups cooked day-old long-grain rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper (or to taste)

How To Make garlic fried rice (sinangag)

  • Step 1
    Heat olive oil in large skillet or wok over medium-low heat. Add garlic. Cook and stir until lightly toasted. Add rice and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until grains of rice are separated and lightly fried. Season with salt and pepper. Ladle onto platter and serve hot.
