When my kids were little, I worked and so we had a baby sitter who was oriental and she made the best fried rice I had ever tasted. I haven't made this for over fifteen years I'm thinking, but will in the next day or so. Very very good

prep time 15 Min
cook time 15 Min
method Stir-Fry
yield about 8

Ingredients

  • 3 cups white rice cooked
  • 3/4 cup ham diced
  • 3 - green onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion diced
  • 1/2 cup carrot cut julian
  • 1/2 cup celery chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make fried rice

  • Step 1
In a wok or large fry pan, brown the ham in the oil, add carrots, celery and cook til tender, salt and pepper, (I like to cook this til its a little crunchy)then add the onions and cook about two minutes.
  • Step 2
add your 3 cups cooked rice ( I use left over rice from the night before) I like to cook rice in the wok before the veggie then use another wok or large fry pan and cook your vegetables, add the rice to the vegetables and season.
  • Step 3
In a small fry pan take your egg and whip it with a fork and then fry it like an omelette I swirl it so it covers the bottom of pan, I salt and pepper this, take out of pan and roll it and then slice it and place it on top of your fried rice as a garnish. Enjoy:)
