Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 cup peas, thawed
  • 1 cup carrots, shredded
  • 3 - eggs
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil

How To Make fried rice

  • Step 1
    Saute onion in peanut oil until onion is tender.
  • Step 2
    Stir in rice, chestnuts, peas and carrots.
  • Step 3
    Cook over low heat for 8-10 minutes stirring frequently.
  • Step 4
    Stir in beaten eggs, and cook 3 minutes longer stirring occasionally. Stir in soy sauce.
  • Step 5
    Cooked cubed pork, beef or lamb can be added for varieties.
