This is an easy and oh so tasty fried rice. This is also a recipe that can easily be tweaked to suit your own taste. I prefer to use fresh bean sprouts, but canned sprouts can be used...just drain and rinse them well.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1/4 cup oil (reserve about 2 tablespoons to cook egg)
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups diced meat (pork, ham, chicken)
  • 1 small package of fresh bean sprouts
  • 4 - green onions, chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, mashed
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make fried rice

  • Step 1
    Cook rice according to package. Fry eggs until firm and then cut into strips.
  • Step 2
    Heat remaining oil in fry pan--add meat, bean sprouts, and green onions. Cook 3 to 4 minutes--stirring.
  • Step 3
    Add rice, soy sauce mixed with garlic, and salt and pepper. Add eggs. Mix together thoroughly.
