Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon onion flakes, dehydrated
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric, ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 1/3 cup dry wild rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted, optional

How To Make copy cat uncle ben's wild rice mix

  • Step 1
    Combine all of the spices in a medium saucepan and mix thoroughly. Add the both types of rice, the chicken stock, water and butter (if using).
  • Step 2
    Bring mixture to a boil and stir to combine. Cover saucepan with a lid, turn down heat to a simmer and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed.
  • Step 3
    NOTE: May be used in any recipe that calls for Uncle Ben's Wild Rice.
