Ingredients

1 c
jasmine rice, uncooked
1 can(s)
coconut milk (14 oz)
1/4 c
water
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
red pepper flakes, crushed
1/8 tsp
turmeric, ground
1 tsp
fresh ginger, finely chopped
1/2 c
almonds, slivered (optional)
1/4 c
shredded coconut (optional)

Step-By-Step

1Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, except the sliced almonds.
2Stir well to combine.
3Cook over medium high heat, stirring until mixture comes to a low boil.
4Immediately reduce heat to low.
5Cover and cook for about 18 minutes.
6Fluff with a fork.
7Cover and let sit for 5 more minutes.
8Garnish the finished rice with the slivered almonds and coconut(optional).
