Ingredients For central american rice

1 1/2 clong grain rice

2 Tbspvegetable oil

1/2 smwhite onion, chopped

1/2 cred bell pepper,chopped

1 clovegarlic, minced

2 1/2 cwater
-
1/2 tspsalt (more to taste)
How To Make central american rice

1Rinse rice thoroughly in a strainer until the water runs clear. Let is drain well.

2Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Add the rice and stir until slightly brown. Add onions, bell pepper, and garlic. Saute 1-2 minutes.

3Add the water and salt; cover and cook until all water is absorbed. If more water is needed to get the rice tender, add very small amounts at a time.

4Allow rice to sit off heat for 10 minutes.
