I've had this recipe for so many years that I don't even remember where I found it. At any rate it's a nice change of pace side dish. I usually bake it with condensed beef broth plus water to equal 3 cups liquid. Note: Although the original recipe calls for a 2-qt. baking dish, I've had the best luck baking this in a low glass baking dish 10x8x2 inches.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups long grain rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth or beef broth
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

How To Make baked rice

  • Step 1
    Combine all in 2 qt. casserole. Bake covered at 350 for 40 mins. or until rice is tender. Fluff with fork. Serve hot.
