Whats not to love? I make sweet potatoes for my family all year round. They're not just for Thanksgiving in my house! I hope you enjoy my yummy recipe. If not now, save for Thanksgiving. They're great for potluck too! Have taken to Church and everyone loved them. Enjoy!

Ingredients For ~ yum! sweet potatoes, sausage & apples ~

  • 2 md
    and 1 small sweet potato, peeled and sliced, about 3/4 inch thick
  • 3/4 - 1 lb
    bulk sausage, crumbled and fried - reserve drippings
  • 2 - 3 md
    peeled and sliced apples, i used granny smith
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    not level - a little heaping - flour
  • 3 - 4 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • sprinkle
    of pecans or walnuts

How To Make ~ yum! sweet potatoes, sausage & apples ~

    In a medium baking dish ( I used an 11 x 7 ) layer potato slices, sausage, apple.

    Mix the flour, water, sugar, cinnamon and salt and pour over the potatoes mixture. Top with pecans and drizzle with sausage drippings, cover and place in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove cover and continue baking until potatoes are fork tender. Carefully toss before serving, to coat all with the juices.
