Whats not to love? I make sweet potatoes for my family all year round. They're not just for Thanksgiving in my house! I hope you enjoy my yummy recipe. If not now, save for Thanksgiving. They're great for potluck too! Have taken to Church and everyone loved them.

2 medium
and 1 small sweet potato, peeled and sliced, about 3/4 inch thick
3/4 - 1 lb
bulk sausage, crumbled and fried - reserve drippings
2 - 3 medium
peeled and sliced apples, i used granny smith
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
1 1/2 Tbsp
not level - a little heaping - flour
3 - 4 Tbsp
brown sugar
3/4 c
of pecans or walnuts

How to Make ~ YUM! Sweet Potatoes, Sausage & Apples ~


  • 1In a medium baking dish ( I used an 11 x 7 ) layer potato slices, sausage, apple.
  • 2Mix the flour, water, sugar, cinnamon and salt and pour over the potatoes mixture. Top with pecans and drizzle with sausage drippings, cover and place in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove cover and continue baking until potatoes are fork tender. Carefully toss before serving, to coat all with the juices.
  • 3Enjoy! Remember, they aren't just for Thanksgiving. You can enjoy sweet potatoes all year around.
