Whats not to love? I make sweet potatoes for my family all year round. They're not just for Thanksgiving in my house! I hope you enjoy my yummy recipe. If not now, save for Thanksgiving. They're great for potluck too! Have taken to Church and everyone loved them. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 medium and 1 small sweet potato, peeled and sliced, about 3/4 inch thick
  • 3/4 - 1 pounds bulk sausage, crumbled and fried - reserve drippings
  • 2 - 3 medium peeled and sliced apples, i used granny smith
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons not level - a little heaping - flour
  • 3 - 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • sprinkle - of pecans or walnuts

How To Make ~ yum! sweet potatoes, sausage & apples ~

  • Step 1
    In a medium baking dish ( I used an 11 x 7 ) layer potato slices, sausage, apple.
  • Step 2
    Mix the flour, water, sugar, cinnamon and salt and pour over the potatoes mixture. Top with pecans and drizzle with sausage drippings, cover and place in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove cover and continue baking until potatoes are fork tender. Carefully toss before serving, to coat all with the juices.
  • Step 3
    Enjoy! Remember, they aren't just for Thanksgiving. You can enjoy sweet potatoes all year around.
