This recipe uses instant potato flakes ... and it's good! Why sit and peel all those potatoes?!!

Ingredients

  • - non stick cooking spray
  • 6 cups water
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons onion salt
  • 2 - 8 oz packages cream cheese, room temp. and cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 - 16 oz - container sour cream
  • 9 cups mashed potato flakes
  • - paprika
  • - a rasher of fried bacon (4 to 6 slices)
  • - chopped fresh parsley

How To Make totally loaded mashed potatoes

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 2 quart 9 inch round baking dish with non stick spray.
  • Step 2
    Heat water,butter, garlic salt, and onion salt to boiling in a 6 quart Dutch oven or saucepan. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    Add cream cheese, milk and sour cream, stirring until cream cheese is dissolved. Then stir in potato flakes, mixing until all ingredients are well combined. Spread mashed potato mixture into prepared baking dish.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle with paprika and bake one hour or until bubbling around edges and golden brown.
  • Step 5
    Top with chopped bacon and parsley. Enjoy!
