How to Make THELMA'S SCALLOPED POTATOES & HAM
1Place the sliced potatoes in a 5-qt. Dutch oven, layered with the ham.
2In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Stir in the flour and mix together. Add the milk, a little at a time, stirring with a wire whisk until the mixture begins to thicken.
3Add salt and pepper, stir well, and pour over potatoes and ham.
If you wish, you may add 4 to 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce and mix until cheese has melted.
4Place Dutch oven, covered, into a preheated 375-degree oven for one hour. Remove lid and continue cooking 1/2 hour more.
