This is my mothers recipe and whenever I make these, they are gone!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 pounds frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • - topping:
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup crushed corn flakes

How To Make texas taters

  • Step 1
    Combine butter, hashbrowns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, onions and cheddar cheese in a 9x13 inch pan or equivilent casserole pan.
  • Step 2
    Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Step 3
    Drizzle melted butter over potatoes and sprinkle corn flakes crumbs. Bake an additional 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Note: I use a glass casserole pan. I also look for sharp cheddar cheese. Some people also like more cheese. Adding more will not hurt it!
