I first had this from a sister-in-law... I have since changed things up a bit.

One holiday side dish that can be semi-homemade is mashed potatoes, and this is a great recipe to have handy. It tastes like you peeled, boiled, and mashed the potatoes yourself... except you didn't. The final result is creamy, buttery, and fluffy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Bob Evans garlic mashed potatoes
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 oz.)
  • 1 package shredded cheddar cheese
  • - garlic powder, if you wish for more garlic
  • 1 package bacon bits, usually found in croutons section of store

How To Make teri's awesome mashed potatoes

  • A container of mashed potatoes in a baking dish.
    Step 1
    In a casserole dish, as shown, put in the one package of potatoes and mash with a fork or spoon, whichever.
  • Cream cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
    Step 2
    Cut cream cheese into slices. Place them on top of potatoes.
  • Microwaving the mashed potatoes.
    Step 3
    Microwave for 4 min.
  • Bacon bits, cheese, and the other package of potatoes mixed together.
    Step 4
    Add the bacon bits, cheese, and the other package of potatoes {garlic powder if you choose}. Mix together.
  • Microwaving the potatoes again.
    Step 5
    Microwave for about another 5 min or until everything is heated through and melted. Enjoy!
