This is a recipe that I make for my husband David that is his ultimate favorite...it was the first dinner I actually made for him that at least won over his stomach...his heart came later!

ground beef
1 medium
3 clove
1/2 tsp
1 Tbsp
beef soup base
2 can(s)
cream of celery soup
2 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
1/2 pkg
tator tots
2 c
shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make Tator Tot Hotdish


  • 1Dice onion, mince garlic and add both ingredients to dutch oven. Add ground beef and brown over medium heat. After ground beef mixture is browned, drain grease.
  • 2Add pepper, beef soup base, cream of celery and cream of chicken soup to ground beef mixture. Stir well until incorporated.
  • 3Place 1 layer of tater tots on top of ground beef mixture to cover. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until the tator tots are crispy.
  • 4Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese ontop of tator tots for the last 10 minutes of baking time. Cheese should be melted before serving.
