This is my signature dish at our family's Thanksgiving dinner every year. It's very sweet and can be served as a side dish or as a dessert. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family has.

Ingredients

1 (40 oz ) can(s)
sweet potatoes (drained)
1 (29 oz) can(s)
sweet potatoes (drained)
1 pinch
salt
2
eggs
1 stick
butter or margarine
1/3 c
milk (or less--you don't want it too soupy as it won't cook down)
1 c
sugar

BROWN SUGAR TOPPING

1 c
light brown sugar
1/3 c
all purpose flour
1/3 stick
margarine or butter (melted)
1 c
chopped pecans

How to Make Sweet Potato Casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown Sugar Topping--in a small bowl, mix all ingredients together and set aside.
  • 2In large bowl mash sweet potatoes then add salt, eggs, margarine, milk and sugar together
  • 3Spoon into large casserole dish and top with Brown Sugar Topping
  • 4Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
