This recipe was first introduced on Thanksgiving before my son left for his first tour in Iraq. My sister-in-law knew how much my son loved sweet potato's so she made him this dish. I have to share it with you.

Ingredients

4 1/2 c
cooked sweet potato(peeled, cubed, boiled and mashed
1/2 c
butter (softened)
1/3 c
milk
1 c
regular sugar
1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
2
eggs (beaten)
1 c
brown sugar
1/2 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
butter, softened
1 c
chopped pecans or walnut i prefer walnuts

How to Make Sweet Potato Cassarole

Step-by-Step

  • 1After sweet potatoes have been cooked and mashed mix together with 1/2 cup soften butter,milk,regular sugar,vanilla extract and beaten eggs.
  • 2Spread into 9by13 inch baking dish pushing down and smoothing it out to make even.
  • 3In small bowl combine brown sugar,flour,nuts of choice and sprinkle this over whole casserole. then drizzle 1/2 cup melted butter over the top.
  • 4Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes.
