- 8-10 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon oil or bacon grease
- 1 large onion, chopped fine
- salt and pepper to taste
How To Make steam-fried potatoes

Step 1Coat the bottom of a large skillet with oil or bacon grease.

Step 2Add sliced potatoes until the skillet is full. Add water. Cover potatoes with onion, salt, and pepper.

Step 3Cover skillet with a lid and let cook over medium-high heat until tender.

Step 4Remove lid and begin turning over potatoes, mixing in the onion.

Step 5Continue cooking until all water evaporates and potatoes start sticking to the bottom of the pan. let potatoes brown on the bottom before turning over with a spatula.

Step 6Serve immediately.
