How To Make special occasion baked mashed potatoes
Test Kitchen Tips
We baked our potatoes at 400 degrees F for 45 minutes - 1 hour until fork tender. We let them cool, peeled the skin off, and then mashed.
-
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, mix the potatoes, shallots, and cheese until well combined. Season with salt and pepper. Fold in the sour cream one cup at a time.
-
2Oil a large baking dish (13 X 9 or larger pan will do) very well. Place the potato mixture in the pan and sprinkle the top with the reserved cheddar cheese.
-
3Bake for 25 minutes until hot and lightly browned.
