6 mediumwhite (or red) potatoes

How to Make Smothered Potatoes
- Wash potatoes and thinly slice. Slice onions. Cut butter in slices and place in iron skillet along with onion slices and potatoes in that order on stove top.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper and let simmer until potatoes are tender. Stir several times during cooking to distribute seasonings. Serve immediately.
