- 1 small thinly sliced onion, divided
- 2 - thinly sliced tomatoes, divided
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1.5 teaspoons beau monde seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 cup lowfat milk
- BEAU MONDE INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon cloves, ground
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon bay leaf , crushed
- 1 tablespoon allspice, ground
- 2 tablespoons pepper, ground
- 1 tablespoon pepper, freshly ground white
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
- 1 teaspoon mace, ground
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
How To Make sicilian potato bake (hash browns & mozzarella)

Step 1Prepare Beau Monde seasoning: In a small mixing bowl, mix together all ingredients. Pour into a tightly closed jar and store in a cool, dry place.

Step 2Prepare a shallow 6 cup casserole with a little margarine or spray oil.

Step 3Layering in order listed, place first 7 ingredients in casserole; use half the amounts for the first 4 ingredients (those marked \"divided\").

Step 4Then layer the remaining amounts of the first 4.

Step 5Pour milk over top.

Step 6Cover with foil, but loosely, so steam can escape.

Step 7Bake 425 degrees for 25 minutes.

Step 8Remove foil.

Step 9Bake 5 more minutes.

Step 10Remove and let stand a minute or two before cutting.
