I got this from my daughter n law , never thought about fixing potatoes this way , It has become a southern tradition for family gatherings .

Ingredients

  • 12
    small to medium potatoes
  • 1 small
    onion
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    sharp grated cheese
  • 1/2 c
    water

How to Make Shannon's homestyle tators

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut each potato into 4 quarters ( if quarters are to big cut in two again )
  2. Place into baking dish
  3. Cut onion into 4 quarters an slice each one into small slices an place over potatoes
  4. Pour water over potatoes , sprinkle garlic salt , pepper place butter in small pats over potatoes
  5. Cover with aluminum foil
  6. Bake 45 min's remove from oven , cover with cheese an continue cooking uncovered for 15 min's
  7. Place in preheated oven at 375 degrees
