scalloped potatoes with ham

I usually make the regular scalloped potatoes but once in a while I will make this one when I am in the mood for scalloped potatoes and am out of milk..I have made this one when I have had company and they enjoyed and asked for the recipe.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds potatoes yukon gold or red
- 2 medium onions,,sliced thin
- 2 medium peppers, one green and one red cut in strips
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 8 ounces black forest ham chopped roughly
- 1/2 cup tomato salsa or chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon basil, fresh chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make scalloped potatoes with ham

Step 1Grease a casserole with butter,,,Cook potatoes in lightly salted water until tender-crisp..drain and set aside to cool so you can handle them to slice thin.

Step 2Saute onion in 2 tablespoons oil along with the garlic and peppers until tender, stir in the ham, salsa and seasonings.

Step 3Arrange1/2 of potatoes in dish sprinkle with 1/2 the parmesan cheese add the vegetables and arrange the rest of the potatoes , parmesan cheese and mozzerella . Bake covered at 375F or until potatoes are tender about 35 minutes, uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until golden,nice served with a Caesar salad and garlic bread.
