Ingredients
- 2 tubes butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 pounds yellow potatoes peeled
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme minced
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg grated
- 1 cup grated gruyere cheese
How To Make scalloped potatoes with gruyere

Step 1Preheat oven 350 degrees. Rub 1 tbsp. butter inside an 8 x 8 baking dish.

Step 2With a mandoline slice the potatoes to about 1/8 inch thick. Add the remaining butter and half and half into a saucepan. Add the thyme, salt , pepper, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and add the potatoes and cook 1 minute. Pour into the baking dish.

Step 3Bake about 30 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender. Top with the cheese and bake another 10 minutes.
