  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cans tomato soup (10.75 oz each)
  • 1 can water (10.75 oz)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons ground oregano
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 box scalloped potatoes (4 oz)

How To Make scalloped potato hamburger hot dish

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Brown ground beef with onion. Drain off excess fat.
  • Step 2
    Add tomato soup, water, spices from the potato package, and oregano.
  • Step 3
    Mix in 1 cup of shredded cheese and potato slices.
  • Step 4
    Transfer to a greased 3-quart baking dish.
  • Step 5
    Bake uncovered at 425 for 25 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Top with 1/4 cup of cheese. Place in the oven for 5 minutes until it is melted.
