Ingredients
- SALTED CARAMEL
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons flaky sea salt
- SWEET POTATOES
- 3 pounds sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons butter
- TOPPING
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 5 tablespoons butter melted
How To Make salted caramel sweet potato bake

Step 1to make the salted caramel In medium saucepan. Add the sugar and the water. Bring to a boil swirling a bit then continue to boil but do not move it until it turns a golden brown. Remove from heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream the mixture will sizzle and bubble but keep whisking until smooth. Stir in the salt. Set aside.

Step 2Place the sweet potatoes in boiling salted water and boil until the potatoes are fork tender. Drain. With a mixer beat the potatoes with the egg and butter adding about 1 cup of the caramel mixture and beating until smooth.

Step 3Place in a greased 9x9 pan. Mix the topping ingredients together and sprinkle over the top. bake at 400 degrees for about 40 minutes. Drizzle remaining caramel over for serving.
