This is a recipe was created by wife's mom, when she was growing up in a low income family and altered to satisfy the family's needs and wants(kids need nutrition and want Cheese!! LOL) It's like liquid cheeseburger!!

Ingredients For redi's potato soup

  • 1 lb
  • 5-8 md
  • 1 md
  • 1/2 box
    velveta cheese
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, cold
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 can
    evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c
    each - carrots and celery optional

How To Make redi's potato soup

    Peel and cut potatoes boil in water till tender then drain, Meanwhile in seprate sauce pan cook hamburger and onion till no longer pink ,drain fat.

    Return potatoes to kettle and Add both cans of evaporated milk to potatoes,then add enough water to milk and potatoes to cover potatoes, next add butter, garlic powder and turn on medium heat till hot,then add cheese and hamburger and onions.

    once cheese is melted reduced heat to simmer 15-20 min. Add salt and pepper to taste. (sometimes we use slow cooker) Enjoy!!
