"red flannel hash" or "ruby red hash" farm style

This is Grandmas.."Ruby Hash" everything is diced. Otherswise known as."REd FLANNEL HASH" when all ingredients are ground together. Like in a can. I like both..But I had leftover Corned Beef I cooked last week. So naturally I believe in "WASTE NOT-WANT NOT" I am a child of the big deppession in the 30's...!..HA. I mixed all the ingredients..and froze packages..for when ever...I have a taste. HA! Yummy!! O.K. I so I also save rubber bands, mayonnaise jars...etc. I can't help myself!...LOL Pleae enjoy this simple dish with a couple eggs plopped on top. Nancy...1/28/13

Ingredients

  • 2-3 cups left over ... cooked corned beef
  • 6-8 medium red otatoes..cooked..then skinned
  • 1 can beets...cubed
  • 3-4 pints freezer bags

How To Make "red flannel hash" or "ruby red hash" farm style

  • Step 1
    Boil the potaoes in their jackets. Peel and cut into small squares. Open a can of beets..and dice Cut the left over corned beef,that was cooked last week... and dice.
  • Step 2
    Combine all above... Put in freezer bags and freeze. . Save for another day. Grandma called them "RUBY HASH" and she diced all the ingredients. We know them as "RED FLANNEL HASH" and are usually ground up...like in a can...... Either way...they are both ...YUMMY!!YUMMY!!
  • Step 3
    I will fry this up with a couple eggs.. for a nice breakfast. When I have a taste....LOL
