Ingredients
- 4 cups russet potatoes
- 1-1/2 cup whole milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cup grated medium cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
How To Make potatoes au gratin

Step 1Thinly slice potatoes and set aside. In medium saucepan melt butter, add flour and whisk together, add milk and whisk together.

Step 2Add salt and pepper. Cook until boiling stirring constantly until smooth. Turn off heat and add 1 cup of cheese.

Step 3Lightly grease a 8x8 casserole dish. Layer 1/2 potatoes in dish, top with 1/2 sauce. Add another layer of potatoes then sauce..top with 1/2 cup of cheese…sprinkle with paprika. Bake uncovered at 350* for 45 -60 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly..
