Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1/2 pound processed cheese, cubed
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 pound hot dogs, cut in 1" pieces
  • 10 ounces peas and carrots, frozen

How To Make potatoes and hot dogs au gratin

  • Step 1
    Cook potatoes in boiling water, until just tender; drain and set aside to cool a little.
  • Step 2
    Make a white sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat and mixing in the flour.
  • Step 3
    Mix in well the milk, and stir until it thickens.
  • Step 4
    Add seasonings and cheese, stir until cheese melts.
  • Step 5
    Add hot dogs and peas and carrots, mix well.
  • Step 6
    Add cooled potatoes and mix gently.
  • Step 7
    Pour into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and bake uncovered at 350 degrees oven for 45 minutes or until heated through.
