Pork Roast with two sides are Aunt Nellie's Red Sweet & Sour Cabbage with added spices and Waffle Fries Sweet Potatoes with added spices. Absolutely the most moist pork roast.

Ingredients

  • 1 - hormel pork roast (packaged in seasonings)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, ground sprinkled in oil and apple cider vinegar
  • 2 medium granny smith apples
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 2 1/2 cups apple cider
  • - cinnamon, ground and nutmeg, ground sprinkled over granny smith apples
  • 1/2 package seasoned waffle sweet potato fries
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 jar aunt nellie's red sweet & sour cabbage
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 pinch cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

How To Make pork roast with two sides

  • Pork Roast with Granny Smith Apples
    Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In dutch oven, put vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar and sprinkle of cinnamon and stir. Add sectioned onion and saute. Add pork roast and brown on bottom. Place apples around roast and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour 2-1/2 to 3 cups of apple cider around roast. Put in oven and cook for 3 hours.

    Step 2
    Take roast out of oven and let rest. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spread out sweet potatoes on parchment lined cookie sheet. Melt 1/2 stick of butter in microwave, add cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir and pour mixture over sweet potatoes. Bake for 20-21 minutes.

    Step 3
    In small saucepan pour jar of red sweet & sour cabbage. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, caraway seeds brown sugar. Heat on high until begins to boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer. Takes about 15 minutes.
