My sister and I make pierogis each holiday and mine never seem to turn out. Last year, I gave up! I found this recipe and it's much easier and tastes very close to homemade pierogis!

  • 1 8 oz. pkg
    lasagna noodles
  • 3 medium
    chopped onions
  • 1/2 lb
    butter or margerine
  • 1/2 lb
    sharp cheddar cheese(like cracker barrel aged vermont
  • 7-8
    potatoes or 1 tub of pre-made mashed potatoes

How to Make Pierogi Casserole


  1. Cook noodles as package directs.
  2. Sautee onions in the butter.
  3. If using real potaoes, make as usual for mashed potatoes.
  4. Chunk cheese and melt cheese into potatoes.
  5. In a greased lasagna pan, layer in this order until ingredients are gone. Noodles, potatoes... Pour all onions/butter over the top.
  6. Bake 15-20 min. at 350.
