i LOVE pork steaks, my late father in law introduced them to me years ago and i was hooked. i have tried them many ways since and recently came up with a recipe that combines a few of my old ways and a few of his, they are so very tender and juicy! I will post a pic later, having this tonight!

prep time
cook time 6 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 2-4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • - oregano leaves
  • - cumin
  • - season all
  • - garlic salt
  • - cracked black pepper
  • - ground sea salt
  • - olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 large pork steaks
  • 5-6 small baby potatoes, halved or whole
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • - fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • COMBINE FIRST 6 ING FOR RUB. SPRINKLE STEAKS WITH OLIVE OIL, THEN USE RUB ON BOTH SIDES. REFRIGERATE.

How To Make perfectly tender rubbed pork steaks

  • Step 1
Place potatoes and onion in bottom of crock pot. add broth and fresh mushrooms, then place steaks on top. Cook on low about 5-6 hrs. *Before placing steaks into crock pot, i add a little olive oil to a pan, let this get HOT and give them a quick sear on both sides.*
  • Step 2
you can add the soup at any time, sometimes i add it to top of steaks during cooking or wait to add the last hour, remove the steaks and make the "gravy" to the consistency you like. i like to remove meat and taters, add some off the juices to the soup, turn crock pot to high and make a roux, then pour in the soup mixture
