Ingredients

  • 6-8 - potatoes - un-peeled
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 large onion - chopped
  • 5 - sweet pickles - chopped
  • 5 - dill pickles - chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed (whole)
  • 1 cup mayonaise (not salad dressing)
  • 4 - hard boiled eggs - chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • - salt & pepper to taste

How To Make mom's dutch tater salad

  • Step 1
    Boil potatoes and eggs until potatoes are tender.
  • Step 2
    Drain and let cool.
  • Step 3
    Chop other ingredients (celery, onion, pickles). Put in large bowl & mix well.
  • Step 4
    Add other ingredients (celery seed, mayonaise, sugar, salt & pepper) to bowl mixture.
  • Step 5
    Peel potatoes and eggs. (The skin on the potatoes should peel off easily.)
  • Step 6
    Chop potatoes into 1/4 in squares.
  • Step 7
    Chop eggs and add potatoes and eggs to bowl mixture.
  • Step 8
    Mix well with your hands, then chill the mixture.
