Mashed Potatoes Done My Way

My children will not eat anyone elses mashed potatos! I never thought they were all that special until I had friends over for Easter and they all wanted to know how I made them so delish. I guess some people have never added cheese and garlic. So I decided to post them just because : ) I do have pics at home so I will post when I am there

5 lb
yukon gold potatoes, boiled in the skins
4 slice
thin white american cheese (not the stuff wrapped in plastic sleeves, get it from the deli
4 slice
thin provolone cheese
minced garlic
garlic powder
salt, pepper
1 stick
real salted butter (no margarine)
you can use more or less cheese to taste


1Put potatoes (skins on)in large bowl, add butter in dabs over potatoes. Beat on medium till blended.
2Add cheeses and garlic and mix.
3Add all seasonings and mix, tasting till its salted and seasoned to your taste.
4Add just enough milk to make potatoes the consistancy you prefer. (we actually like ours a bit lumpy)
