Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

When your making mashed potatoes have a pot full of water that you will be cooking the potatoes in, peel and cut the potatoes ( the smaller the potato piecies the less cooking time )put them in the water make sure they are all covered with water so they don't turn dark. Then dump the water and rinse the potatoes off then fill the pot with enough COLD water to cover, then add salt to the water. bring to a boil lower heat and cover.

whole milk


1After you drain the water off of cooked potatoes
put butter in then with the mixer beat just until all lumps are out, then add enough milk to make it very creamy.
2IF you are making gravy start your gravy with the fat off of whatever meat your cooking add flour, stir it in then use the water off of the potatoes.If you want to make a milk gravy just add milk after the potato water
