Ingredients

  • 5 lb
    potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/3 c
    shredded cheddar cheese (12 oz), divided
  • 1/2 lb
    sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3
    green onions, sliced

How to Make Loaded Mashed Potatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. Place potatoes in a Dutch oven, cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until tender. Drain, place in a mixing bowl and add sour cream, milk, butter, salt and pepper.
  2. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Stir in 2 cups of cheese, the bacon and the onions.
  3. Transfer to a greased 3-quart baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
