A hearty side dish! Good with pinto beans & cornbread or as a side with scrambled eggs. You can add a dollop of sour cream, or serve it with ketchup. You can also add green peppers and top it with various types of cheeses.

Ingredients

  • ·
    4-5 small to medium red potatoes
  • ·
    2 strips of bacon
  • ·
    1 onion
  • ·
    2-3 dashes hot sauce
  • 1/2 c
    sharp shredded chedder cheese (can use any cheese to suit your taste)

How to Make Home Fried Potatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. Wash potatoes and cut into quarters or slices.
  2. Peel onion and slice or chop it.
  3. Fry the bacon, remove when done to let drain on papertowels. Use the same bacon drippings to fry the potatoes and onions.
  4. Add cut-up potatoes and onions to frying pan and cook until tender. Add salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste.
  5. Transfer potatoes and onions to a dish. Sprinkle with bacon pieces and shredded cheese. You can serve with sour cream or with ketchup.
