A hearty side dish! Good with pinto beans & cornbread or as a side with scrambled eggs. You can add a dollop of sour cream, or serve it with ketchup. You can also add green peppers and top it with various types of cheeses.

Ingredients

  • - 4-5 small to medium red potatoes
  • - 2 strips of bacon
  • - 1 onion
  • - 2-3 dashes hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup sharp shredded chedder cheese (can use any cheese to suit your taste)

How To Make home fried potatoes

  • Step 1
    Wash potatoes and cut into quarters or slices.
  • Step 2
    Peel onion and slice or chop it.
  • Step 3
    Fry the bacon, remove when done to let drain on papertowels. Use the same bacon drippings to fry the potatoes and onions.
  • Step 4
    Add cut-up potatoes and onions to frying pan and cook until tender. Add salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste.
  • Step 5
    Transfer potatoes and onions to a dish. Sprinkle with bacon pieces and shredded cheese. You can serve with sour cream or with ketchup.
