My family loves mashed potatoes any way, especially for the holidays.

Ingredients For holiday mashed potatoes

  • 3 lb
    yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
  • 5 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 tsp
    garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2/3 c
    sour cream, regular or lite
  • 1/3 c
    cream or half and half
  • dried parsley, for garnish

How To Make holiday mashed potatoes

  • 1
    Boil potatoes in water on the stove until fork goes in easily. Remove from heat and drain.

    Start mashing potatoes. I use an electric mixer. Add butter, garlic powder, sour cream, cream and salt and pepper to taste.

    Finish mashing until desired consistency. Add a little milk if too thick. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
