My family loves mashed potatoes any way, especially for the holidays.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 3 teaspoons garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2/3 cup sour cream, regular or lite
- 1/3 cup cream or half and half
- dried parsley, for garnish
How To Make holiday mashed potatoes

Step 1Boil potatoes in water on the stove until fork goes in easily. Remove from heat and drain.

Step 2Start mashing potatoes. I use an electric mixer. Add butter, garlic powder, sour cream, cream and salt and pepper to taste.

Step 3Finish mashing until desired consistency. Add a little milk if too thick. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
