I've been making this recipe for over 30 years and Everyone loves these mashed potatoes. I love being able to make the day before a holiday and just popping in the oven.

  • 12 medium
    potatoes, peeled, cooked & hot
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c
    minced onion, optional

How to Make Holiday Mashed Potatoes


  1. Mash hot potatoes. Add cream cheese in small pieces and then butter. Beat well until melted and completely mixed in.
  2. Mix in sour cream.
  3. To the milk add the eggs and onion. Add to the potato mixture along with salt and pepper. Beat well until light and fluffy.
  4. Place in a greased casserole and refrigerate overnight or several hours.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until lightly browned on top.
