My husband loves potatoes and he loves casseroles so I combined the two a few years ago into this recipe. It is a great dish for potlucks or BBQ's. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 package frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can nacho cheese soup
  • 1 teaspoon salt or garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons mccormick hot shot
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make hash brown casserole

  • Step 1
    Cut bacon into bite sized pieces. Saute bacon and onion in a skillet until bacon is crisp & onions are tender.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, mix together hash browns, soups, salt, Hot Shot, bacon & onion until thoroughly combined.
  • Step 3
    Place mixture in a greased 13x9 casserole dish, cover dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Remove foil and top with shredded cheese. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is hot & bubbly.
